Use GainSeeker® Suite to Collect and Alarm

GainSeeker collects data from all of your data sources and sends an alert for each problem or process change.

Customized Data Collection

With GainSeeker, data collection is completely customized for your application.

GainSeeker is flexible, so it adapts easily to data collection scenarios such as:

  • Measuring a variety of features using multiple devices or data sources in the order that you choose
  • Locking down the work flow so that you control how GainSeeker Data Entry is used
  • Measuring multiple features at one time, from a variety of sources
  • Automatically triggering data collection after a set period of time or after a certain number of machine cycles
  • Automatically collecting data with no human intervention

Flexible Data Storage

If your process data comes from numerous sources or is not permanently stored in another system, you can use the GainSeeker database as the warehouse for your process data.

However, if your process data is already stored in a data warehouse, you don't have to store it a second time in the GainSeeker database. GainSeeker can collect data from your existing warehouse, notify you of any problems or process changes and display charts and statistics for the data – all without storing the data in the GainSeeker database.

Both methods alert you to failures and process changes so you can take prompt corrective action.

Customized Alarms and Notifications

GainSeeker gives you complete control over what triggers an alarm and how you are notified.

Alarms for Western Electric Rules

GainSeeker can trigger alarms for any combination of the Western Electric rules for real-time failures, including:

  • Individual value above or below specification
  • X-bar above or below historic control limit
  • X-bar above or below current control limit
  • Range above historic control limit
  • Range above current control limit
  • X-bar run above or below mean
  • Range run above or below R-Bar
  • X-bar trend increasing or decreasing
  • Range trend increasing or decreasing
  • 2 of 3 above or below 2 standard deviation
  • 4 of 5 above or below 1 standard deviation
  • CuSum failure above or below mean

Alarms for Your Voice of Customer Rules

GainSeeker can trigger alarms based on your Voice Of the Customer (VOC) business rules.

This is especially important in transactional environments where a product or service that is defective in one situation is completely acceptable in another. For example, a three-day cycle time may be acceptable when it spans a business holiday but is considered defective during a typical week.

GainSeeker gives you the power to build your own business rules for testing data and alarming only on certain conditions.

Customized Notification

GainSeeker alarms are customized to notify the right people about problem or process changes. Frequently used options include:

  • Displaying a notification message on the data collection computer that triggered the alarm
  • This type of notification can include a large red message screen, the control plan for process failures, and sound alerts
  • Sending e-mail or pager notification to staff responsible for the process
  • Charts and statistics for the most recent data can also be included with this type of notification
  • Turn on flashing lights, sound alarms, or even automatically adjust the process
