“The Dashboard is very user friendly. I was able to set up basic functionality without any training. Before I had the Dashboard I had to review over 170 unique pieces of data every day. The Dashboard gives me everything I need for each product on one screen, with color-coded exception notices. I can see at a glance where to focus my attention. The Dashboard has been a big benefit.” Armand DeSollar |
GainSeeker Enterprise Dashboard makes data more visible to persons at all levels of your organization. From process owners to senior management, GainSeeker Enterprise Dashboard summarizes and filters data so that only relevant data comes to the user's attention. Here are some examples of actual and planned Enterprise Dashboard deployments.
Electronic Components Manufacturer - Leading supplier of audio amplifiers uses Enterprise Dashboard as an integral part of real-time production information system. GainSeeker extracts production and quality data from several disparate data sources and automatically displays the information on a web page. At the end of each line on the factory floor, a LCD projector displays this web page on an enormous screen. Everyone on the line can see at a glance how they are doing against targets for production and quality.
Electronics Assembly - Major manufacturer of air quality test equipment uses Enterprise Dashboard to roll up assembly data to evaluate process performance at each assembly step, and monitor data by operator, product type and date period. Key process indicators include yield, defect rates and test metrics including out-of-the-box field failures. Dashboards are posted on flat panel displays and hung outside cubicles in high traffic areas.
Discrete Products Manufacturer - A key supplier to the HVAC industry will use GainSeeker Enterprise Dashboard to monitor process capability statistics at all levels of the enterprise. High level key metrics tracked include Yield, OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) and Down Time. GainSeeker will enable the user to drill down to the critical inputs by date, production line, product, and so forth.
Food Manufacturer - Major provider of condiments and seasonings will use the Enterprise Dashboard to support team efforts to improve productivity. A key driver of efficiency is Down Time. GainSeeker automates the reporting of OEE metrics by line, product, date range, team and defect reason.
Food Manufacturer - A leading US producer of meat products will use the Enterprise Dashboard to monitor scrap defect percentages across dozens of production facilities. Users can track defect percentages, cost of poor quality and profitability, and drill down by business unit, plant, line and product lot number.
Machine Manufacturer - A manufacturing equipment builder will use the Enterprise Dashboard to roll up raw data from operators with machine inputs to calculate and display OEE.
Electronic Control Systems Manufacturer - An aerospace electronics firm will use Enterprise Dashboard to report Yield and DPMO to management. Dashboard will have high visibility and help drive daily business decisions and better understand the impact of process changes over time.
Aerospace Company - A leading European aerospace company will use Enterprise Dashboard to eliminate cumbersome spreadsheet data summarizing and reporting on allocation of resources. Dashboards will automatically refresh themselves.
Continuous Batch Process, EPA Reporting - Building products company uses statistical process control tools to monitor EPA compliance data. The Enterprise Dashboard will provide the Compliance Manager with an up-to-the minute summary of compliance by test, location, technician, and status. The manager will be able to drill down to the source of any variation within the compliance data.
Sales (Transactional) Application - Large pharmeceutical sales force needs to track contract close rates. Key drivers include mode of contact, quantity of contacts by time period, direct versus indirect sales, and so forth. Enterprise Dashboards will monitor overall performance and provide ability to drill down by business unit, district, region, customer status, priority, sales rep and customer contact. [Top]
Summarize and Drill Down
One of the challenges for many dashboard applications is that the data must be manually loaded into a spreadsheet before it can be displayed. This is a time-consuming and error prone process. And these systems don't connect to the underlying data sources so there is no way to drill down to the supporting detail data.
GainSeeker Enterprise Dashboard eliminates this problem because it is built on the GainSeeker Suite Database. Underlying data is never more than a click or two away. Thanks to GainSeeker's robust data acquisition and real-time analysis engine, you can be confident that the detailed data housed in the GainSeeker data warehouse is clean, timely and accurate. And once you have detailed data, GainSeeker's robust analysis capabilities makes it easy to drill down to root cause. [Top]
Types of dashboards
The Enterprise Dashboard generates three distinct types of dashboards: Real Time Failure Dashboards, Key Process Indicator (KPI) Dashboards, and Summary Statistics Dashboards.
Real Time Failure Dashboards summarize current system failures. Color-coded cells indicate nature of real time failure reason.

Columns can be defined by any time period. Rows can be defined by product, Critical x/Y, Department, Cell, or other criteria.
Cell contents can include descriptive and summary statistics such as mean, capability, or record count.
Set timers so the dashboard refreshes itself automatically at predetermined times.
Right-click on any cell to see a legend summarizing the real time failures. Or select to draw an up-to-the minute control chart of the data.
Key Process Indicator (KPI) Dashboards graphically portray key performance metrics. User-configurable dial and bar gages make it easy to see at a glance how a process is perfoming.
| + Enlarge KPI Dashboard |
KPI Dashboards give you a powerful graphical representation of the current state of the process. Choose to display data in either a dramatic speedometer-style gage or a easy-to-read bar gage. Scaling, colors, and dozens of other graphical elements are all user-defineable. Put either type on the same form.
Labels, including font types and sizes, can be customized. Not only that, labels can include both static and dynamic text.
Furthermore, just like with the other dashboards, you can set timers so the dashboard automatically refreshes itself. And you can quickly and easily drill down into the data.
KPI dashboards also allow you to mix all types of data (variable or attribute, manufacturing or transactional) in one form.
| + Enlarge Summary Statistics Dashboard |
Summary Statistics Dashboards are a unique innovation from the team at Hertzler Systems. Need to see a list of all the processes where the yield has fallen below some set level? Would it be helpful to know all the products that have any instability or where the Cpk has fallen below some specific target? The Summary Statistics Dashboards deliver that kind of powerful information.
Of course all the other features of the other dashboards are available here too: automatically refresh the dashboards at set intervals, drill down to the detail at just a few keystrokes, and so forth. [Top]
Desktops
Enterprise Dashboard lets you save any combination of dashboards as a Desktop. The Desktop makes it easy to set up view for individual users so they can quickly and easily get to the view of the data that they need for their job. Build custom desktops of process owners, department managers, or senior executives. [Top]
Client and Server editions available
| + Enlarge Dashboard Timer Form (Server Edition) |
Enterprise Dashboard comes in two editions: Client or Server. The client edition links to the corporate data source, but is designed for use on a single computer. Users can readily send data to other applications including Excel, Word, HTML pages and email. The Server Edition includes that functionality, and also supports XML/HTML. This enables users to automatically post dashboards on a corporate web site where they can be viewed in a browser without purchasing any additional software. [Top]
