New in GainSeeker® Suite Version 7.7
Isolate sources of variation with new X/MR/R chart
GainSeeker Suite adds a new control chart to its arsenal of analytical tools. The X/MR/R chart is also known as a "Between/Within Control Chart", a "Three-Way Control Chart", or a "3D Control Chart".

The X/MR/R chart helps you isolate sources of variation in a data set as either within a sample or between samples. This may be useful in situations where similar data is collected from several locations on a single product at the same time. For example, a manufacturer applies plastic film to paper and wishes to measure film thickness at 5 locations across the width of the paper. Similarly, a cookie manufacturer may take one sample of 8 cookies across a belt. Or in wafer fabrication, the manufacturer may wish to capture the thickness of each wafer across a boat after a furnace operation.
In each of these situations the user needs to track the variation within the sample, and at the same time track variation from sample to sample. The X/MR/R Chart can be the perfect tool for this application.
