GainSeeker® Suite Version 8.0

New capabilities in GainSeeker Suite 8.0 increase value and reduce costs of data

The newest release of GainSeeker Suite is Version 8.0, launched early February, 2010. Version 8 adds significant functionality with the release of a new Dynamic Reports module, a new .Launch module, dashboarding enhancements, OEE capability, cost charts of DMS data, an improved installation process, and an improved Administration module.

  • The Dynamic Reports module adds a powerful Crystal Reports style report writer to GainSeeker Suite. This module lets you design customized reports and certificates of analysis. You can extract both Variable and Attribute data and place it on the same report. You can also access summary statistics, and even embed GainSeeker charts in your report.
  • .Launch simplifies the task of customizing shortcuts that will automate tasks in GainSeeker modules, such as launching a particular data entry session or e-mailing a weekly report, and it also makes it easy to distribute these customized shortcuts across your network. You can also use it to create shortcuts for other programs, and you can organize related shortcuts into groups - giving you a convenient and flexible way to organize your workspace.

In addition to this new functionality, we have completely rewritten the Administration module so that system configuration options are simplified, better organized and easier to use. The GainSeeker installation program has also been completely redesigned and updated.

Finally, we've added some key enhancements to our analysis tools that could have an important impact on your productivity and on your ability become data driven. These analysis enhancements include a new costing chart of defect and downtime data, the ability to display any chart or other image on any dashboard, and sparkline charts on dashboards.

Important 'fine print' for clients who are using a Pervasive (or Btrieve) Relational Database in File Mode

GainSeeker Suite users who are still using a Pervasive or Btrieve database will need to migrate to a more modern relational database such as MySQL, Microsoft SQLServer, Oracle, or Pervasive running in "Database Mode". The new Dynamic Reports and .Launch modules need one of these more modern relational databases to run properly. Eventually all GainSeeker Suite modules will require one of these more modern relational databases. There are several options for performing this migration, and they are described in detail here.

Information about earlier versions of GainSeeker Suite
