GainSeeker Suite's Dynamic Reports

Course Aim

Dynamic Reports is a two-day course where participants will learn the basics of building reports in the GainSeeker Dynamic Reports module.

After two days of standardized classroom training, each participant will schedule four individual remote coaching sessions of two hours each. These coaching sessions can be used to assist your efforts to build your own reports that are based on your own data.

Target Audience

The target audience for this course is anyone responsible for designing and building GainSeeker Dynamic Reports.

Prerequisites

This course is paced to accommodate people with experience in the following areas:

Windows 2000, XP or 7
Windows file-level commands: Copy, Rename and Delete
Navigating a Windows-type directory/folder tree structure
"Analyzing Data in GainSeeker" class or equivalent
Knowledge of simple database queries (e.g., in MS Access) is recommended but not required
Programming experience is useful but not required

Participants are encouraged to bring sample reports or ideas of what they want reports to look like.

Course Topics

Understanding when to choose Dynamic Reports instead of other tools
Creating basic GainSeeker reports for data and statistics from SPC and DMS
Using Lists, Tables, BandedLists, Matrices and Sparkline charts to display data and statistics
Grouping data on Tables and BandedLists
Formatting and Conditional formatting (e.g., changing the color if Cpk is too low) for numbers
Adding titles, report date, page numbers, company logo, etc.
E-mailing reports, printing reports, and saving reports as .pdf
Exposure to advanced reporting options such as charts, Advanced Reports and Mixed Reports, web links, parameters used to filter data, creating your own calculations, retrieving data from other data sources (outside the GainSeeker database), interactive sorting, toggling visibility, command line parameters, importing and exporting report formats, and many more
