Analyzing Data in GainSeeker
Course Aim
Analyzing Data in GainSeeker is a two-and-a-half-day course where participants learn how to use the analytical tools in GainSeeker Suite to turn their data into knowledge. This course covers both the statistical basis for the tools implemented by GainSeeker Suite and step-by-step instructions for using these tools in your organization.
Target Audience
The target audience for this course is any person who uses GainSeeker Suite to perform critical aspects of their job. In many companies these persons have job titles such as Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Quality Manager, Quality Analyst, Quality Engineer, Process Engineer, Black Belt, Green Belt, or Six Sigma Champion.
Prerequisites
This course is paced to accommodate people with experience in the following areas:
- Windows 2000, XP or 7
- Windows file-level commands: Copy, Rename and Delete
- Navigating a Windows-type directory/folder tree structure

Fundamentals for Understanding GainSeeker
- Introduction to GainSeeker Suite
- The 8 cost/value metrics that help determine how well a company has minimized cost and maximized value for the data they collect
- Appropriate use of variable data and appropriate use of attribute data
- Benefits of using both process control and product control
Analyzing Data for Improvement
- Using the SPC and DMS modules to create charts
- Using GainSeeker tools to identify probable sources of variation
- Editing and deleting data
- Charting external data
Disseminating Knowledge
- Using the Options menu to customize charts
- Using the 'Send To' menu to send charts to other programs and other people
- Creating a modifying statistics lists and custom reports
- Creating, opening and editing desktops
Enterprise Dashboard
- Creating Key Performance Indicator, Real-time Failure, and Statistical Filter Dashboards
- Viewing the underlying data for your dashboards
- Sharing Dashboard reports with various internal and external customers
- Creating, opening and editing dashboard desktops
