Data Entry for Administrators
Course Aim
Data Entry for Administrators is a half-day course lays the groundwork for setting up and managing data entry in GainSeeker Suite. This half-day module introduces Administrators and the Technical Lead to the options available for making GainSeeker data entry as efficient and effective as possible. Both variable (SPC) and attribute (DMS) setup options will be covered.
Target Audience
The target audience for this course is any person who is responsible for administrative activities such as:
- Understanding the basic options for Data Entry
- Monitoring real-time failures
- Setting up and maintaining parts and processes
- Creating and maintaining planned sessions for certain parts
Prerequisites
This course is paced to accommodate people with experience in the following areas:
- Windows 2000, XP or 7
- Windows file-level commands: Copy, Rename and Delete
- Navigating a Windows-type directory/folder tree structure
- Attending the Configuring and Maintaining GainSeeker and Analyzing Data in GainSeeker courses is recommended, but not required.
Course Topics
- Enter variable SPC data, including traceability information
- Recognize and respond to real-time failures during SPC data entry
- Create a new SPC standard and configure its settings
- Use knowledge of process to select appropriate real-time tests
- Explain the difference between entering data via Quick Start, Templates, Planned Sessions and Stored Sessions, and determine which is most appropriate
- Use the SPC Database Monitor to review real-time failures
- Use the SPC Standard Utility to duplicate multiple standards
- Determine which DMS processes will be required and useful for your GainSeeker implementation
- Define appropriate Defect lists for your DMS processes
- Identify the advantages and disadvantages of the three typical DMS implementation models
- Set up a DMS process and its Defect list in GainSeeker
- Create a new DMS standard and configure its settings
- Use the DMS Data Entry module to effectively enter attribute data
- Use the Options menu to customize the DMS Data Entry module
