In the role of support, the questions of creating various charts in GainSeeker comes up from time to time.  One of these questions I receive every now and then is how to create a Performance Chart grouped by Traceability.  I thought I would take the time and share how you too can access this chart through GainSeeker.

A Performance Chart helps define process capability by grouping data by a traceability value in a Box and Whisker format.  This allows for quick visual comparison of data groups by mean and variation.  Why don’t you follow along with me and lets produce this chart together.  In fact, I will show you two ways to produce this chart grouped by Traceability.

First way

  • With GainSeeker Charts open, click on SPC Charts
  • Select a Standard
  • Click on the Charts tab and select the Performance Chart from the left hand side
  • With the new chart displayed right-click and select Group Data
  • Select Traceability change
  • Select the traceability you would like to group by
  • Click OK

Second Way

  • With GainSeeker Charts open, click on SPC Charts
  • Select a Standard
  • Click on the Charts tab and select the Control Chart from the left hand side
  • With the new chart displayed right-click and select Group Data
  • Select Traceability change
  • Select the traceability you would like to group by
  • Click Ok
  • Now, right-click, select duplicate and select the Performance chart.

I wanted to show the second way since most of our users create Control Charts in seconds flat! Once grouped, a few clicks of the mouse and you have a Performance chart grouped!!  Yes, I just shared a secret with you.  (I have a few more as well.) When I conducted training I made sure to let class know there are various routes to take to get the same result.  Pick the one that is best for you.

Still have a question?  Maybe I can help you out. If you want to talk about training or have a quick question, feel free to call me!  (That is what I am here for.)

If you do not have GainSeeker yet, I urge you to schedule a demo! Oh, and if you tell them Jen sent ya, I will sit in on the demo with you to help answer any technical questions you may have.
