Setting the Filter

You can filter the data for traceability, corrective action, bypass, date/time, or part number/process values. This allows you to analyze data only for data records that meet the criteria of your filter.

You can also use filters to sort data in order by a value other than the date/time stamp.

The Select Filters dialog box is used to select filters.

You can use one of two methods to filter your data.

For a very simple traceability filter, use a Quick filter. This type of filter is easy to set up and change. It cannot be used to filter for multiple values or for any fields other than traceability. It will only be saved for the current report.

For more complex filters, or for filters to be saved for re-use, use a standard filter. These are shown in the Available filters list.

Selecting multiple filters

You can also choose multiple filters for analyzing data two different ways.

If you choose multiple filters for analysis without selecting the Combine checkbox, the Statistics you select will be calculated separately for each filter. For an overview of the groups of statistics that will be calculated, see the Summary tab. Additionally, any raw data from the Columns Tab will be sorted in order by the filters you select. For example, if you select the filters “Shift 1” and “Line 4”, two data sets will be returned. The first data set will only include data where the Shift is equal to 1 and the second data set will only include data where the Line is equal to 4.

If you choose multiple filters for analysis and also select the Combine checkbox, the filters will be joined together and will return only one data set. The Statistics you select will be calculated for the data from the combined filters. For example, if you select the filters "Shift 1" and "Line 4," only data where the Shift is equal to 1 AND the Line is equal to 4 will be added to the data set.

To turn off all filters, clear the Quick filter checkbox and select All Data from the Available filters list.
