For the last few months I wrote articles on the SPC Variation Wizard and the DMS Drill-down Wizard. These analysis tools take time and guesswork out of your day as it helps you find the sources (root causes) of variation in your processes.  So, what in the world is “The Big Data Widget”, and how does it relate to these wizards?

I’m glad you asked.

The What, Why, Who, and Where of The Big Data Widget

WHAT is this feature exactly?  The Big Data Widget (yes, there is one for both SPC and DMS) is a tool in the GainSeeker Charts Module. It puts the Variation Wizard / Drill-down Wizard on steroids.  This control analyzes all your Standards having data during a given time period.  Not just one Standard at a time, but all of them!! So it saves you a lot of time.

WHY use this feature?  Why not! The Big Data Widget is a huge time saver. It automates analytics and drill-down so that you can solve problems faster. It is included with GainSeeker and it takes just a few minutes to try it out.

WHO should use this feature?  Of course we think that everyone who has access to GainSeeker will want to use it. But we find that Analysts and Lead Technicians are especially interested when they:

  • Monitor processes
  • Create visuals for meetings
  • Create dashboards for display

WHERE can I find it?  The Big Data Widget is located within the Dashboard component of GainSeeker Charts.  The image below shows the two components circled.

Please note: if you do not see these components in your Dashboard editor then request the latest version of GainSeeker here!

Like I said, it is easy to try out the Big Data Widget. I encourage you to do so.

Still  have a question?  Use our Ask an Expert page. If you do not have GainSeeker yet, I urge you to schedule a demo!  Oh, and do not forget to tell them that Jen sent ya.
