In the spirit of Halloween I thought I would TREAT you to some insider information on our Tech Tips LIVE for October as well as some cool new features for our version 9.1 scheduled to be released by the end of this month!  Our webinar date is Thursday October 18th at 2:00 pm (EST).  You won’t want to miss it and it is only 30 minutes long. Join CSD member (David Carroll), our CTO (Byron Shetler), and I as we battle it out to see what the “coolest” new feature of 9.1 is.  You will cast your vote and pick a winner!  Remember, in the end we all win because of all these new features you get to use!

Our Tech Tips LIVE is a great tool in which all participants are able to interact and ask questions with not only our support staff (that you talk to when you call in), but our CTO and fellow developer. I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone what our Tech Tips LIVE  is.   The format is 15 – 20 minutes of instruction and then approximately 15 minutes question and answer time with you.  Anyone viewing the webinar LIVE has the opportunity to message me your questions so I may ask our presenters.  Do not worry, I do not call out names.  This is a great opportunity to ask those questions that come up during the instruction portion.  In the past we also received some awesome feedback for more enhancements!

While I do not know exactly what the crew will show at our GainSeeker version 9.1 webinar, I would not be sneaking you any “treats” unless I present you with some screen images of some of the new features.

(Trick or Treat #1) Enhanced user select date options

GainSeeker Version 9.1 Date Fields

GainSeeker Version 9.1 adds new Date Field options for Previous periods

In version 9.1, when you open the Date Period menu and select the User Select radio button, you will see some more options appear in the “Previous” type of period. We received numerous requests for various options on this one.  Our development team thought long and hard at what were the best options to provide.  This enhancement is awesome! For example, if you selected previous day and today was Monday – the resulting data would be for Sunday, but wait, there is not any production on Sunday. Hmmm? Now, if you select previous day (with data), the Sunday issue is no more.

(Trick or Treat #2) Expanded options for Event, Cause, and Action Taken

GainSeeker Version 9.1 Event, Cause, Action Taken

GainSeeker Version 9.1 Force only one Event, Cause, or Action Taken

Now, when you click on a Sub-Inspection and then click on the ForceNote drop-down under the Behavior you have options!!! If you use any of the Event, Cause, or Action taken you can now set them individually, OR (the old way) as a group.  Another great addition to version 9.1.  Many times our customers would like to associate an event to one particular measurement, not the entire group of measurements on the sub-Inspection.  This enhancement solves that problem.

(Trick or Treat #3) The addition of the Rating Test to the Inspection Editor

GainSeeker Version 9.1 Rating

GainSeeker Version 9.1 – Setting up for Likert Rating

GainSeeker Version 9.1 Rating Scale

GainSeeker Version 9.1 – Using Likert Rating Scale

I bet at some point in your GainSeeker career you thought about how functionally cool it would be to be able to rate something using a Likert Scale.  I’ve had conversations with customers who want to rank the severity of sampling of defects to just a generic 1 – 5 stored as variable data.
