Displaying Statistics with Charts

Use the Statistics under chart dialog to temporarily override the default statistics that display beneath a chart on a charting window and on a printed chart. You can also opt to print a chart without the statistics.

 

You can assign default settings to charts in the GainSeeker System Administration module. See Chart Defaults settings

Note: This setting and all other settings located in the Chart overrides node of the Settings dialog can be saved as a chart skin that you can apply to any charts. For more information, see Chart Skins

Note: To display statistics under a chart on your computer screen, the Show statistics list under chart option must be selected on the Settings tab.

Displaying statistics with a chart on a charting window

Note: Statistics display beneath Combination charts and Performance charts by GainSeeker default. You can temporarily override this by clearing the checkbox preceding the Show Statistics list under chart setting on the Settings dialog when a chart is open.

Displaying statistics with a printed chart

Opening the Statistics under chart dialog:

There are a few ways to access the Statistics under chart dialog:

From the Settings tab:

  1. On the Settings tab tree, navigate to Statistics under [chart type] = following this path:

  1. Then, double-click: Statistics under [chart type] =. The chart types are highlighted in the following example:

The Statistics under chart (or name of other chart type) dialog opens.

From the chart right-click menu:

  1. Right-click an existing chart to open the right-click menu for that chart type.

  2. Click Statistics Report... on the menu.

From the GainSeeker System Administration module:

Follow this path on the Configurations tab of the System Administration module:

Configurations | (Configuration) | chart defaults | DMS | Default reports | Statistics under ("chart type")

Using the Statistics under chart dialog

To select an existing statistics list:

  1. Click a statistics list name in the Select a statistics list to select it.

  2. Click OK.

To create a new list or to copy a list:

  1. Click the New... or Copy... button.

The Enter Value dialog opens.

  1. Click the New report (list) name text field on the Enter Value dialog.

  2. Enter a new name for a list. Then, click OK.

The Statistics under chart - [list name here] dialog opens with the name of the list in the dialog caption. See Using the Statistics under chart - [list name here] dialog.

To edit an existing list:

  1. Click the Edit... button.

  2. The Statistics under chart - [list name here] opens. See Using the Statistics under chart - [list name here] dialog.

To print a chart without the statistics:

  1. Click the blank space immediately above the top statistic in the list:

The blank space will display a highlight bar.

  1. Click OK on the dialog.

The chart can now be printed without statistics displayed:

Choose the individual statistics to include in a statistics list using this dialog. See Choosing the Statistics

Any statistics that may have been included in an existing list display in the Selected list. Any statistics that can be added to the report display in the All list. For usage, see Using the dialog buttons and features
