There are several ways to copy an existing Dynamic Report. After making a copy of the report, you can change the Retrieval Settings and/or the Design of the new report to meet your needs.

To create a new report of the same type as the existing report:

To create a new Advanced Report based on an existing SPC or DMS Report:

Right-click the existing report on the SPC Reports or DMS Reports tab on the Dynamic Reports screen and then click Copy to Advanced Report. Alternately, you may highlight the report you want to copy, click the File menu, and then click Copy to Advanced Report.

Note: Some retrieval settings from SPC and DMS reports will not be automatically translated into the SQL query. These include:

  • columns that are calculated from fields in the database records, such as X-bar, Range, Sigma, Moving range, p, u, and Row number

  • the Maximum count for an SPC report

To create a new Mixed Report based on an existing SPC, DMS or Advanced Report:

From the SPC Reports, DMS Reports or Advanced Reports tab on the Dynamic Reports screen, right-click the existing report and then click Copy to Mixed Report. Alternately, you may highlight the report you want to copy, click the File menu, and then click Copy to Mixed Report.

Note: After copying one of these report types to a Mixed report, it is best practice to view the new Mixed report and make sure that it opens correctly – it should look identical to the report that it was copied from – before you begin making changes to this new report.
